COVID-19

COVID-19 Notice

We at Clearview Endodontics are deeply concerned about the impacts to the health and well-being of our patients and employees. Your safety is our number one priority and as the facts and situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic continues to emerge, we are taking every precaution to act in the public’s best interest. The RCDSO is Ontario’s regulatory body for dentists and they have issued a letter indicating that non-essential and elective dental services should be suspended immediately to slow the spread of the virus. This means that starting Monday March 16th and continuing until further notice, we must implement new restrictions on patient care during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Please read all this information carefully.

Clearview Endodontics will be closed for all elective procedures effective immediately and are restricting treatment to urgent or emergency care only.

Urgent or emergency
will be provided if you have one or more of these conditions:

  • Severe toothache pain
  • Swelling of your gums and/or face
  • Infection or a substantial risk of it
  • Dental trauma

If you do require urgent care, please call our office first so that we can evaluate your clinical situation on a case by case basis. Please do not come to the office without calling first since we will need to arrange an appointment date and time for you, as we will have reduced operating staff and hours during this period.

Please also note that if you are scheduled for an emergency procedure, you are expected to honour social distancing recommendations and remain 6 feet away from others. Depending on how many people are in the waiting area, you may be asked to wait in another area of the office or outside. Please limit any translators, parents, guardians and other necessary support people to one visitor if possible, who must also pass the COVID-19 screening protocol. Any other people including children, should not accompany the patient to his/her appointment.

All other patients that have non-emergency procedures already scheduled at our office will have to be cancelled and rescheduled accordingly. The RCDSO will revisit this recommendation in the first week of April. We hope to provide you with an update on Monday April 6th, 2020.

In order to uphold the highest standards of infection control and prevention, all patients will be pre-screened over the phone prior to scheduling any non-elective procedures. We will not schedule you if you have the following symptoms:

  • Flu-like symptoms and/or shortness of breath
  • Cough, runny nose, sore throat
  • Symptoms of an upper respiratory tract infection
  • Chills and trembling within 24 hrs
  • Fever: 38 degrees Celsius (100 Fahrenheit)
  • You have travelled outside of Canada in the last 14 days
  • You have been in contact with someone who has travelled outside of Canada
  • You have had close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19

We regret that we must restrict our patient care this way. We are serving our patients in the safest manner possible by following the advice of the RCDSO under these difficult circumstances. In doing this, we will safeguard the health and safety of our patients, our care providers, and the whole community. We hope you understand, and we thank you for your cooperation.
